Volunteer Opportunities

If you are interested in volunteering to support of Costa Mesa libraries, please consider both options below:


Friends of the Costa Mesa Libraries:

In addition to being a board member, the friends group has a number of available volunteer opportunties:
Varied assistance is needed for used book sales — mostly on weekends
Continual assistance is needed to take passport photos and run the used bookstore.
Financial support is welcome through membership or donations.

Costa Mesa Library Foundation
The library foundation is interested in continuing a tradition of board membership with a unique set of skills or interests in relation to library service and support. To present yourself as a candidate, please consider the following questions:

  1. Why are you interested in our organization?
  2. Why are you interested in serving on a board?
  3. Do you have any previous board service, leadership, or volunteer experience? Are you presently serving on any boards?
  4. What kinds of skills or expertise can you offer? How will the organization benefit from your participation? How do you think we could best take advantage of your expertise?
  5. What do you expect us to do for you so that your experience is satisfying?
  6. What kind of time and financial commitment will you be able to make? Are you willing to serve on committees? Can we expect you to come to board meetings regularly?
